Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki’s Kyle Beaton scores career best finish at San Diego

February 15, 2012

Kamloops, BC(February 15, 2012) Last weekend, round five of the 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series took place at San Diego, California’s Qualcomm Stadium and for Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki’s Kyle Beaton, it was a chance for redemption on his road back to form after missing much of the 2011 season.

For Beaton, who missed the entire summer of 2011 recovering from major knee surgery, San Diego marked one last time to make his first main event of the season before the series takes a break to kick off the start of the East series. So far in the series, starts and bad luck had left him just short of making the main events but he knew that he just needed a break to showcase his considerable skills and at San Diego, he got just that. After just missing the cut in his heat race, Beaton grabbed the holeshot in the LCQ and led every lap to take the win and ensure his spot in his first main event of the season.

In the main, Beaton again grabbed a great start, rode strong and finished solid – recording a career best 11th place finish. Beaton was ecstatic after the race, “Man, it feels so good to get this monkey off my back. I knew I had an awesome bike and I was riding well but I just needed a little luck and I got it this weekend. I’m so glad to finally pull off a result that I knew I could!”

Now, with the West series taking a break, Beaton is returning home for a week for some much needed R and R before returning to California to begin testing for his assault on the Monster Energy CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals this summer. Beaton will also be back on the line in Seattle on April 21st when the West series resumes, hoping to keep the momentum rolling.

Beaton and the Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki team would like to thank their sponsors for allowing Kyle the opportunity to race Supercross this season: Monster Energy, Leading Edge Kawasaki, Parts Canada, Thor, C4MX, Canadian Kawasaki Motors, Smith Optics, Gold Business Machines, Renegade Fuels, Podium Grafix, Faction MX, Mechanix Wear, Zeta, Moto Tassinari, Matrix Concepts, Sunstar, Ipone Lubricants, D.I.D, Acerbis, Ogio, Magnum MX, Hinson Clutch Components, Boyesen, Unit Riders, Stomp Designs, Pro Wheel, LeoVince Carbon Fiber, CV Products, Goldfren Brakes, XTRIG Triple Clamps, DRC Hardware, TM Designworks, JE Pistons, All Balls Racing, DC Shoes, K and N Filters, Kawasaki S4-R Competition Lubricants
