The KLR650’s 652cc four-valve single produces a flat power curve that lets you navigate trails and cruise at freeways speeds effortlessly. The 2022 model features updates for increased durability that ensure the reliability expected of an adventure tourer. Stronger mid-range focused performance and increased generator capacity meet the needs of riders heading out for an adventure.
Fuel injection offers impressive fuel efficiency and reliable starting in cold conditions or at high altitude.
The fuel tank has a 23-litre capacity, enabling a long cruising range.
In addition to a larger (ø300 mm) front disc that delivers excellent stopping power, models with ABS offer increased rider reassurance.

RELIABILITY & CONFIDENCETough Adventure Partner
A key component of the long-running KLR650’s reputation as a trusty steed, the liquid-cooled DOHC single benefits from fuel injection. In addition to the reliable starting and fuel efficiency offered by FI, a generously sized fuel tank enables long ranges between fuel stops. Another feature for the KLR650 is the availability of ABS, which adds to riding confidence.
Based on the high-tensile steel, semi-double cradle frame that has established a great level of trust from the market over the past 30 years, an integrated rear frame and a long swingarm contribute to composed handling at highway speeds, with and without luggage.
Fine-tuned riding position is relaxed, facilitating long hours in the saddle. Rubber-mounted handlebar and footpegs, and rubber dampers under the seat help to manage vibrations for great ride comfort.
Tall windshield with two-position adjustability offers excellent wind protection.
Side cases and top case developed in collaboration with SHAD are available as accessories*. One-key compatibility and a top-opening design makes it easy to add and remove items. Complementing the accessory side cases and top case, a large aluminum rear cargo rack contributes to carrying capacity.
To meet the power needs of grip heaters, fog lamps and other electrical accessories, the ACG has an output of 26 A. A total capacity of 80 W is available to power accessories (depending on usage).

While retaining the highly-acclaimed reliability of its predecessor, the 2022 KLR650 elevates its touring potential to the next level. Frame revisions contribute to composed handling character, and rubber mounts add to rider comfort. The increased comfort and greater carrying capacity facilitate long-distance touring.
The imposing chassis, large fuel tank and protector-equipped shrouds contribute to a tough, functional design that boldly expresses the KLR650’s robustness and spirit of adventure.
