Monster Energy Kawasaki Rider Tomac Tops Toronto SX

March 6, 2017

TORONTO — Eli Tomac gained his fourth Monster Energy AMA Supercross 450SX Class victory of the season on Saturday, beating Ryan Dungey by 14.2 seconds at the Rogers Centre.  In addition to winning the main event, Tomac took the fastest time in qualifying and a heat race win.

"Tonight was great," said Tomac. "Obviously this is the result we want and the points we need. I felt really strong in the race, I'd look back here and there to see if I needed to pick up the pace or stay consistent and to have that control is a great feeling. The track was, once again, really tough and I'm really happy to come away with the win."

Tomac has won four of the six events, topping podiums in Glendale, Oakland and Minneapolis. He currently holds second place in the point standings, 24 points behind Ryan Dungey.

Fellow Kawasaki rider, Adam Cianciarulo, placed second in an eventful 250SX class race, gaining his first podium finish of the season.  Cianciarulo holds third in the points standings, after second-placed teammate, Joey Savatgy.
