May 29, 2017
Kawasaki Riders finished strong at the Canadian Superbike Championship Season Opener in Shannonville Motorsports Park on May 26-28 with podium finishes across the board.
Kenny Reidmann, focusing on the Pro Superbike class this year, debutted his new Ninja ZX-10RR. After an aggressive race in which he battled for the lead with rival and defending champion, Jordan Szoke, Reidmann claimed a respectable 2nd place finish.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R performed well in the Pro Sport Bike, Amateur Sport Bike and Amateur Superbike Classes. Kristopher Garvie, aboard his Ninja ZX-6R, raced to a second place finish in the Pro Sport Bike Class. For the Amateur Series, Samuel Desmarais was the man to beat. He claimed two race victories, one in the Superbike and one in the Sport bike aboard the same powerful Ninja ZX-6R.
The Kawasaki Ninja 300 Spec series returned to the CSBK for a third season with Shannonville marking the first double header of the series. After an impressive previous season, Jared Walker came back to quickly take first place in Race 1. Fifteen-year-old rookie, Xavier Paradis, won Race 2 in his very first weekend on the national tour.
Round two will take place June 9th-11th at Grand Bend Motorplex.
