St-Pierre de Broughton, round #1 CHALLENGE QUÉBEC MOTOVAN

June 26, 2008

Submitted by: Hubert Rousseau

On June 14th and 15th, the best motocross riders in Quebec were gathered in the quaint hometown of rider/sponsor Pascal Payeur (Expert #338). Approximately 400 riders battled for victory in each of the 15 classes. Saturday’s biggest race, the SUPER 2F, was won by Danny Riverin, followed by Jean-Yves Allard and Tommy Lemaire.

Sunday’s racing was hampered by heavy rain. Despite the muddy track, fans enjoyed top quality racing, thanks to the organizers’ excellent efforts. Kaven Benoît won the most challenging race class of the Challenge Québec Motovan 2008, the Expert class, leading from start to finish. Danny Riverin finished second and Alexandre Durocher third. The small number of participants to the morning races probably gave the 23 year old race organizer the first grey hair of his life. The pee-wee races had to be cancelled and the gates were almost empty in many classes, making it a difficult race day.

We should definitely congratulate the organizer and his team for a wonderful weekend. Everything was perfect… except the weather. You can check the results at

Coming this week: The first part of the Méchant Dimanche Matin Moore Électrique at Ste-Louise on June 22. Check the site of Challenge Québec for details.

Have a great week!
