Quebec Regional Championship wraps up in Berthierville with Jabouri in 3rd

September 17, 2007

The CMRC National SuperMoto Series wrapped up it’s last Quebec regional race last weekend in Berthierville – home town to Canadian race hero Gilles Villeneuve. The temporary SuperMoto track for this event was put together by series points leader Maxime Sylvestre, and featured one of the longest and most challenging dirt sections ever for a SuperMoto track. In fact, the dirt section would not have looked out of place inside Montreal’s Olympic stadium for next month’s SuperCross event! The challenges included a monster 60’ table top jump, a rhythm section, and some long dirt track style turns.

Mississauga’s Adam Jabouri, 15, was feeling good about the track and was in the top group of riders all day.

“The dirt section of this track is amazing,” commented Jabouri. “And I’m really happy that there aren’t too many long straights on the pavement part as I’m running my Kawasaki KX250F in all 3 Pro classes!”

The large and partisan crowd was rewarded as home town hero Sylvestre swept all pro classes while Jabouri continues to get quicker with season best results of 3-4-4 in Pro 250 – Open – 450. With this being the last round of the Quebec regionals, Jabouri clinched 3rd place overall in pro 250 AND 450, and 4th place in pro Open. “I didn’t expect to podium in the 450 championship, but consistency pays off!” said Jabouri after the points were tallied up.

Next event on the National SuperMoto series will be on September 15 & 16 with the season ending double header event at Shannonville Motorsport Park. “I’m really looking forward to this race as I’ve done quite a few road racing laps around Shannonville this year,” said Jabouri. “We should have a good setup for the track. The new Bridgestone SuperMoto tires will also be an advantage for us.”
