Marco Dubé Race Report - AX Rivière-du-Loup

June 17, 2009

The racing season has kicked off last weekend! It was my fist race in the past 11 months. I was very happy to start racing again in front of my fans, in my town. The crowd is always behind me in Rivière-du-Loup and it is a great feeling, especially after being away for such a long time.

During the race, I was the second fastest behind Daniel Blair, an American racer. I was able to place 2nd at both my heat races. In the main event, I took the holeshot, then raced 3 or 4 laps in the lead. Unfortunately, I made small errors at each lap, because of a suspension problem, which caused me to lose precious seconds. As a result, Daniel Blair and JSR passed me. After a few laps, my bike had some mishaps and I fell. I had a difficult time restarting the bike and, as you know, every second counts in Arenacross, since one lap is only about 25 seconds. Anyway, I was lapped and the race was over for me.
