Klassen Debuts ZX-14 at CMDRA Oil City Nationals
June 24, 2014
The Pro-Am Motorsports EB Speed Kawasaki ZX-14 drag race bike made its first competitive runs this weekend during the CMDRA Oil City Nationals held at Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway. Piloted by Pro-Am’s Chris Klassen, the 2014 Nitrous ZX-14 qualified first overall in the Super Street Class with a quarter mile elapsed time of 9.149 seconds. Despite the successful qualifying runs, Klassen was forced to withdraw prior to the second round of eliminations, due to mechanical failure of an after market solenoid switch.
Reflecting on the weekend, Klassen commented, “While we are disappointed that we were not able to complete the elimination rounds, we are very pleased with the performance of the bike during qualifying where we hit over 154 MPH. Based on the results we were able to achieve, this bike will definitely be competitive in its class.” Chris would also like to thank sponsors Diesel Performance Specialists and Seven62 Media.
Chris and the ZX-14 will be back in action for the CMDRA Badlands Nationals being held on July 12th and 13th at the M.H.D.R.A. Drag Strip in Medicine Hat Alberta.
