Kaven Benoit Race Report - Trois-Rivières
July 15, 2009
Invincible on 250!
The third round of the Provincial Championship CMRC took place at the MX Cité racetrack, in Trois-Rivières. This was a national level competition, with 5 times Canadian champion Jean-Sébastien Roy, Simons Homans, Marco Dubé, Marc-Antoine Généreux, etc.
In the first race of the 250 Class, Kaven was unlucky and had quite an ordinary start. He was initially 5th but performed well during the whole race, winning it. The second race was a totally different story. He had a great start and lead the race from the beginning to the end. With such a performance, he won 1st place overall in the Pro 250 Class.
For the first race of the 450 Class, Kaven started second, right behind Homans. He passed him before the end of the first turn, becoming the leader of the pack. At mid-race, the engine died after the rear brake got stuck at the beginning of a corner. Kaven got a second place after all. During the second race, the public watched a hot battle with Jean-Sébastien Roy. Kaven finished 3rd, after passing his opponent at the last turn. He placed 2nd overall in the Pro 450 Class.
Next week, he is going to participate on the 5th round of the National Championship CMRC, at Gopher Dunes, Ontario. This participation will be possible thanks to Yves Gervais, from Équipements Les Chutes, who will come with him to this event.
