John Parker Racing end of season wrap up
January 4, 2010
2009 Another successful year!!
Things started off with a minor setback in March when the JPR race shop had a break in. John pretty much thought that was possibly the end of the season. Luckily with some help everything was back on track a month later and it was time to start getting the equipment ready for the attack on the 2009 season.
Over the winter John used the good ice riding season to his benefit and did a lot of testing on the new 2009 Fuel injected KX 450F. The JPR race team was really excited to use the data collected over the winter and put it to good use starting the season off at the Short Track in Welland Ontario.
The series visits Welland five times throughout the year and John had some mixed results at the tricky short track. The first 4 rounds of the Canadian championship are held at Welland and John finished 5th, 7th, 4th, 5th and 8th in the Pro open class. The 450 results were 7th, 8th, 3rd , 9th and 7th. The 3rd was the highlight of the visits to Welland.
The JPR racing team was more excited to get to the half miles and really let the Kawasaki and Rotax motors shine. The first half mile round was held at the lightning fast Leamington Ontario fairgrounds. John has had great results in Leamington with many of them standing on top of the podium. At both Leamington events and the Belleville half mile John was always a contender for the win. His best finish was a 2nd place at Leamington on the KX 450F and only finished off the podium once in all three Half mile events.
The Canadian National series wrapped up with John grabbing the runner up spot to Don Taylor in both the Pro Open and 450 Pro classes. A pair of seconds in both classes over the 10 race series showed that the JPR race team was consistently there week in and week out.
South of the Canadian border John loves to take any off weekends and head to the famed TT scrambles track in Medina NY. Riding the 2009 KX450F he brought home three wins and two second place finishes earning him another Vet. Championship in 2009.
Special thanks to all of our sponsors for all the support throughout 2009 and we look forward to your help again in 2010
