Sun and Rain make for Highs and Lows at SuperMoto National Season Opener .............

The CMRC National SuperMoto series kicked off last weekend in Jonquiere, Quebec. A beautiful Saturday greeted the racers and fans alike for practice on the Dave Arnold designed course that included a "wall" jump - like the ones popularized this year in AMA Supercross!

For Mississauga's Adam Jabouri, 16, the strong pre-season testing results were validated as he was on pace right away. With over 3,000 spectators on attendance (for practice!), the event organizers decided to put on a couple of exhibition races for the fans. These unofficial races saw Adam finish in 2nd and 3rd, with defending Pro Open Champion Maxim Sylvestre taking both wins.

Sunday race day was decidedly different from Saturday, as torrential rains entirely blanketed Eastern Quebec. After some meetings with the riders and teams, it was decided to cancel the remainder of the event and protect everyone's safety.

July 5th and 6th is round #2 to be held right next to the beach in Parry Sound, ON, as part of the ever popular Sport Bike Rally. This event always draws a large crowd and has been a fixture on the Canadian SuperMoto scene for a few years.
