Sixth Round Starts Soon For Rea And Sykes At A Modified Sepang

The forthcoming sixth round of the 2016 FIM Superbike World Championship at Sepang in Malaysia will be held at a familiar venue for KRT riders Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes, not least as it was the launch venue for the 2016 showroom model Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R. This coming weekend they will be racing their new model Ninja ZX-10Rs on new asphalt after a comprehensive resurfacing programme at the 5.543km circuit. After five rounds of the now 13-round WorldSBK championship have been completed KRT riders sit first and third overall, with reigning champion Jonathan Rea enjoying a 35 point series lead and his team-mate Tom Sykes sitting 32 points from second place. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki Rider Joey Savatgy Wins East/West Final

Las Vegas played host to the final race of the 2016 Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM Championship season. Monster Energy Kawasaki riders Eli Tomac and Josh Grant prepared to leave it all out on the track in the rain soaked Sam Boyd Stadium. In 450 Heat 1 Grant earned a transfer to the Main Event with a fourth place finish while Tomac crossed the line third in 450 heat 2. After the final gate drop of the 2016 season, Tomac rounded Turn 1 in fifth with Grant in eighth. Before the end of the first lap Tomac had raced up into third, then went down and dropped back to ninth, but immediately put his head down and started working towards the front. In no time at all Tomac had cut through the group of riders in front of him and put his KX™450F back in a podium position. With two laps to go, while running in seventh, Grant was involved in an incident relegating him back to 11th place where he would remain until the checkers. The 2016 AMSOIL Arenacross season has been packed with racing action, culminating with the Race to the Championship this weekend in the Orleans Arena of Las Vegas, Nevada. The Babbitt’s/Monster Energy®/AMSOIL Kawasaki team of Gavin Faith, Chris Blose and Jacob Hayes have been a consistent threat for the podium and race wins all season long and are looking to capitalize this weekend with a championship.
