Large-diameter spoke wheels with dual-purpose tires allow the journey to continue when the pavement ends. The rear tire is tubeless rear for added convenience on trips.
Front and rear petal disc brakes offer sure stopping power. Selectable ABS allows riders to disable the ABS function according to their preference.

The KLX230 SHERPA’s powerful engine offers ample low- to mid-range torque, pulling strongly and facilitating low-speed control. Fuel injection delivers precise response, also facilitating control. The smooth torque contributes to a rider-friendly engine character and delivers linear acceleration. Further, the simple construction afforded by air-cooling makes it ideal for trail riding.
Sharing the high-tensile steel perimeter frame from the dual-purpose KLX230 gives the KLX230 SHERPA the handling stability needed for confident trail riding when the pavement ends.
Durable aluminum skid plate helps to resist damage to the engine’s crankcase from obstacles encountered when trail riding and adds to the KLX230 SHERPA’s rugged, outdoor image.

Functional, compact and friendly, the styling of the KLX230 SHERPA was carefully chosen to create an image distinct from other KLX models inspired by Kawasaki’s KX motocrossers. Bright, racy colours are replaced with earth-tones, and slim, utilitarian bodywork is used in place of more aggressive pieces to create a trail bike with strong outdoor-gear looks.
