Team Two Wheel Race Report - MAY 25th
May 27, 2008
Everyone Green with Envy
Well it was one of those days. While I was on my way to the track, the sun was out and my radio quit in my van and I knew that nothing else could go wrong. While I was driving down the road a passing Canadian goose decided to leave me a present on my windshield covering my windshield in a thick white film. After that I knew the only way to go was up. The track was perfect when we got there and I knew that this was the day I'd been waiting for, the day that Team Two Wheel could show everyone what we were made of.
Graeme Nelson, had one of the best days he's ever had, finishing Vet Master on the top spot on the box. To the surprise of all he got the hole shot in the second moto and won the first, with a 1-2 finish for first overall. To back it up, I finished a strong third overall in the plus 25 class with a 4-3 placing to finish on the last spot on the box. Was I happy when beat both Chris Lemmon and Tim Martin? Yes I was.
Ryan Lillie finally showed why he was chosen for the team, using his amazing style and speed to win his second MX2 intermediate moto. As the track was quickly turning into a dust bowl, it played right into his hands, putting his Two Wheel Kawasaki onto the second spot on the box. This is what we have been waiting for all year. He also finished a very impressive 4th overall in the super fast GP Intermediate. Were are so happy to finally get this monkey off our back and are proud of his finish.
Bobby Davies won both of his qualifiers in the MX2 and MX3 classes to get himself great gate picks for the finals. He rocketed his KX 250F to a second place finishes in the MX2. The dust was too much in the GP moto hampering his vision after a poor start. Putting him to the ground hard, when the flag dropped he fished a disappointing 22. Although his finishes were not as hoped for he did put his head down and finished strong, there is nothing to be disappointed in regarding his results.
Cody Golem showed his still got it, showing us that the early season injuries are behind him and he's ready to get the season started. With Cody riding all the classes he finished two of his three classes just outside the top five. He's class to be back on his green machines and is ready to chase down the all elusive win.
As the Walton qualifiers rolled on here in Ontario, The lone female on the team made the trek to the women's national in Quebec. She finished the day with a 13-12 finishes for a thirteenth overall. She didn't seem to get along with the track said Kim as she could not put her fast laps together to get her into the top ten. We are now going to a local track for her and we are hoping for a top ten finish.
We could never do this without our great sponsors Two Wheel Motorsport, Pro Action Suspension, Kawasaki Canada, Fly Race wear, Dragon Optics, RK race engines, Ogio, Maxima Oils, Easton handle bars and Moto's for Mom's. Thanks.
