Kawasaki rider Jordan Szoke, the current Canadian Superbike and Pro 600 champion, has signed a two year deal with Canadian Kawasaki Motors Inc.
Szoke commented, “I think its cool to be building a relationship with a company that’s committed to their racing program. I’ve had two great years and look forward to two more great years with Kawi.”
Team Manager Jeff Comello made the announcement and said, “We are excited and happy to continue into the next season. We’ve taken great strides to ensure the solid foundation of our team as a whole and are committed to both of our riders. The strength of our program is team consistency and will go a long way in building on our success.”
Kawasaki’s commitment to Canadian racing has been well documented over the years. With over 25 Canadian road racing championship titles in the last 25 years, Kawasaki is determined to continue the long standing winning tradition with Szoke. It is a history that has been intertwined with Szoke’s racing roots to include his first Canadian Superbike championship in 1989 with Kawasaki.
“That’s the exciting part for me, when people think of Kawi, they think of me and when they think of me, they think of Kawi,” said Szoke on the growing association between him and Kawasaki.
Currently Szoke leads in the points race for both championships entering the last round of the series in Shannonville this weekend. Teammate and HJC Pro Rookie of the Year, Brett McCormick has had an impressive season and sits in 5th spot for Superbike and 6th in Pro 600. His professional debut record speaks volumes to his abilities and his results can only improve next season as he becomes more familiar with the team.
“It’s great to have our riders already confirmed for next year. Our team is focused 100% on this last event and we know what lays ahead of us next year,” summarized Comello.
The final round of the series is this weekend in Shannonville, Ontario. Details on how to get to the event can be found at www.cdnsuperbike.com.
