Szoke on Superbike Pole with new lap record

June 29, 2007

Canadian Kawasaki factory superbike pilot Jordan Szoke will start both of this weekend’s Parts Canada Superbike Championship feature races at Calgary’s Race City Motorsport Park from pole position after topping this morning’s re-scheduled qualifying session.

Three time Canadian Superbike champion Szoke set a new lap record just past the halfway point in the hour-long qualifier with a fastest lap of 1:15.899 around the 3.2-KM circuit.  Szoke beat his own lap record which he had set one year ago at 1:16.052.

The next three riders all bettered their personal times in the final fifteen minutes of the session, leaving Kevin Lacombe, Clint McBain, and Pascal Picotte alongside Szoke on the front row of the starting grid.
