Szoke Nabs Superbike Win Saturday At Race City

July 1, 2007

For the second year in a row Brantford, Ont.’s Jordan Szoke edged Cochrane, Alta. rider Clint McBain for victory in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship feature at Race City Motorsport Park.
In a virtual repeat of their duel in 2006 Szoke took his Canadian Kawasaki Motors Kawasaki ZX-10R to a narrow 0.155 second victory over McBain’s Suzuki Acceleration Racing Suzuki GSX-R1000 in Saturday’s first half of a weekend doubleheader.
The result gave Szoke, the defending Parts Canada Superbike champion, a 31-point lead over McBain, 106-75, after two rounds of the seven-race national series. It was also Szoke’s 22nd career national Superbike win, giving him a chance to tie the record of 23 victories currently held by Steve Crevier in Sunday’s back end of the twin bill.
“Clint and I have had some good battles,” said Szoke after his seventh career Race City Superbike win. “We’re also good friends, although maybe not after today.”
