Steven King's Race Report - June 15th

It was a great weekend in Williams Lake at the 3rd race of the Interior Motocross Association Series. It had rained all week in Williams Lake and it was a pretty soupy Saturday morning when practices started. They changed the format for the double header weekend to a 4 moto format so it was really important to be consistent throughout the weekend. The first Junior moto on Saturday I placed 3rd and in the second moto I placed 2nd. On Sunday I placed first in my 1st Junior moto and 3rd in the second moto. I placed 1st overall for the weekend in the Junior class. It was a great feeling to be 1st overall; I have been working really hard trying to get my lap times down and working on the technical stuff. It finally paid off...
I also raced the Youth class on the weekend. In the first moto I crashed big time in the whoops and ripped my kidney belt right in half and I bent the handlebars, but I managed to get up and finish in 11th spot. My second moto I placed 6th. On Sunday I placed 7th and then 6th for a seventh overall finish for the weekend.
I would like to thank Kawasaki Canada and Cycle North for their sponsorship, also STR MX Performance for helping me with my training.
