53-Racing ICAR Race Report

June 18, 2009

Ottawa, ON. - June 15th, 2009 -- Ottawa-based Elie 'EEL' Daccache of 53-Racing attended the Parts Canada Superbike Championship round at ICAR near Montreal.
Elie scored a 20th in the Yoshimura Pro SportBike race.
"It was nice to get a point in the SportBike race," laments Elie.  "I tried my best to learn the track and push hard but the track is actually quite bumpy and it was really hard on tires, which is tough on a privateer's wallet.  I fought hard throughout the weekend to try and be the best privateer and up until race day I was feeling pretty good about myself!  I showed up with no knowledge of the track, on a tight budget for this round and with no crew.  I'm not happy with the result, but sometimes things happen out of our control."
"I am glad walking away with this result all things considered.  Many thanks to my best friend Steve Walker who helped me on Sunday."
When asked about the remaining PCSB rounds, Elie had this to say: "I can't wait to challenge everyone again at Mosport.  That is a track I have had great success on and get faster and faster every year.  Last year my ZX6-R was flawless there earning me a 9th place finish in SportBike, and I will fight hard to get that result again!"
Elie would like to thank the sponsors that support him - Ottawa Goodtime Centre, Hindle Exhaust, Kanata Collision, Vortex, and Canadian Kawasaki Racing.
